European Starling rescued

A citizen brought in a half-drowned and hypothermic young European Starling on May 28th.  We had little hope for his survival--and some might question the need for saving a European Starling in the first place--but the volunteers were successful at getting him warm and dry.  Excellent practice for one of the more desirable species in the future.

This image taken on June 6th is a more traditional pose for a young Starling

The Starling was released in June.  He hung around for a few days before completely striking off on his own.
